Its been days of celebration for Brie Clark as she cements her place in herstory! On February 28, she made history as the first NCAA athlete to successfully perform the Biles I. Not only did this historic moment close out Black History Month on a high note, but it also kicked off Womens History Month with a bang!
Simone Biles first introduced the Biles I during the 2013 World Championships, setting the standard for this challenging move. Fast forward to this year, Brie Clark carried the gymnastics legacy forward by successfully executing the double layout with a half twist during a tri-meet hosted by Clemson University. That night she made history and the win for her team, helping the Tigers secure a big win over University of Texas and the University of New Hampshire.
According to Forbes, following Clarks successful execution of the Biles I, she joins Simone Biles, Trinity Thomas, Hillary Heron, and London Phillips as the fifth woman to successfully complete the move.
