fRoommates, money may not answer all of our problems, but throwing it at a situation might ease the pain a little! At least that’s the case for one Leicester man, who’s accidental circumcision is landing him a whopping $24,000 payout.
According to CNN, 70-year-old Terry Brazier was admitted into Leicester Royal Infirmary for a bladder procedure, but walked out with a circumcision instead.
Terry reportedly enters the hospital to receive a cystoscopy. Unfortunately, hospital staff thinks he is another patient. He says he is also distracted, and doesn’t realize they are performing the incorrect procedure until it is too late. But how bad can a circumcised private area be?
“They didn’t know what to say they found out they’ve done it,” Terry says. “They said they can’t take me back to the ward and they needed to talk to me.”
In turn, the hospital has apologized for the circumcision and carried out an investigation before confirming it is awarding Terry with $24,000.

Medical director at University Hospitals of Leicester, Andrew Furlong, says the mistake is one that has never happened. He sends deep apologies to Terry and his family.
“We remain deeply and genuinely sorry that this mistake occurred. I would like to take this opportunity to once again apologize to Mr Brazier.”
Terry says having a circumcision is a surprise, but he accepts the hospital’s apology and monetary offer.
In a statement, Furlong says he hopes the $24K provides some sort of compensation for Terry and his family.
He says the hospital takes full responsibility for the mistake.
“We take events like this very seriously and carried out a thorough investigation. At the time to ensure that we learnt from this incident. And do all we can to avoid is happening again. Whilst money can never undo what happened, we hope this payment provides some compensation.”
