Brittney Griner Says She’s ‘Abundantly Proud’ While Giving Cherelle Her Flowers
Cherelle Griner recently shared the exciting news on Instagram. Beneath an array of photos showing her, Brittney, and others commemorating the occasion, Griner noted that her accomplishment “didn’t come easy.”
However, as she persevered through law school, Griner shared, “You may now address me as Counselor” — PERIOD!
She also acknowledged her status as an HBCU law school graduate, as she completed her studies at the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law last year.
Additionally, she’s already updated her Instagram display name to “Cherelle T. Griner, Esq.”
Shortly after Cherelle’s initial post, Brittney Griner praised her wife in a separate upload.
Within Brittney’s message, she acknowledged all the “hard work, determination, and passion” that Cherelle displayed during her law school pursuits.
“There aren’t enough words for me to express how abundantly proud I am of you baby. To be able to see the hard work, determination, and passion you had during this journey of becoming an attorney!”
Brittney Griner lovingly wrapped up her message by announcing, “Congratulations Attorney Cherelle Griner.”
Cherelle Griner Was In The Public Eye Fighting For Brittney
Of course, while mentioning Cherelle Griner, we have to speak on how she assisted in the fight to get her WNBA athlete wife back home from Russia.
Back in early 2022, Brittney Griner was detained in Russia after getting caught up with some cannabis cartridges, and she remained in custody until December.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Cherelle Griner was in contact with the White House during this period of time. She called on President Joe Biden to help bring her wifer home.
As Brittney Griner remained in custody, Cherelle was also sure to keep the public posted, as she shared that the experience was taking its toll on the athlete.

Once her wife was eventually back in the U.S., Cherelle Griner noted that her emotional homecoming “did not feel real.”
