Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson’s single “Uptown Funk” was a definite hit as it sold millions of copies, and reached No.1 on Billboard’s Hot 100.
However, the two are being sued, along with many others for ripping off the song from the music group Collage.
According to TMZ, the group released their single, “Young Girls,” in 1983, and claims that “Uptown Funk” copies their songs rhythm, harmony, melody and structure.
There is only one surviving member from the group, and he is looking to collect his share of the songs profits. “Uptown Funk” has made history as the second longest number one hit on Billboard, and makes about $100,000 weekly through streaming.
The lawsuit also claims that both Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson are actually fans of Collage, and they’ve heard “Young Girls,” in which they were inspired by.
