Bucks Player Damian Lillard Files For Divorce From Kay’La After Getting Married In 2021

NBA player Damian Lillard is parting ways with his longtime partner, Kay’La, after two years of marriage. Lillard reportedly filed for divorce in Oregon earlier this week.

Though they wed in Sept. 2021, the former pair have been together since their college days at Weber State University. Damian graduated from the institution in May 2015. In recent years, Damian and Kay’La welcomed three children.

Willamette Week first published news of their divorce. Filed in Clackamas County Circuit Court, the documents claim the pair have been living separately for nearly a year.

The outlet reports that Kay’La lived in a $2.7 million home in West Linn from December 2022 to this past September. She now reportedly lives in Tualatin. Meanwhile, Damian Lillard continued to occupy their formerly shared home — valued at $7.7 million.

The cause for the divorce remains unclear, but the paperwork cites “irreconcilable differences” that contributed to the “irremediable breakdown of their marriage.”

Kay’La has been noticeably absent in Damian’s recent Instagram uploads. Several of his posts have comments inquiring about his wife.

Instagram user questions Kay’La Lillard’s absence in a photo featuring Bucks player Damian Lillard.

On July 15, he shared a birthday celebration dump featuring photos and videos of him, his children, and what appeared to be friends and family. Kay’La does not appear to be included in the post. His caption read, “33 and free. Love yours! Thanks for all the bday wishes…the best is yet to come.”

His latest upload featuring Kay’La was posted on May 14 in celebration of Mother’s Day.

“Happy Mother’s Day! Takes a special person to wear all the hats that a mother does. I love you, and Im thankful to share what Im most proud of with you!”

Though Damian has posted on his Instagram Story in the last 24 hours, none of the posts have addressed the divorce news. Last week, the athlete was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks after an 11-year run with the Portland Trail Blazers. Willamette Weeks reports that he’s currently at training camp.

We were unable to identify an active Instagram profile for Kay’La.
