‘RHOP’ Star Mia Thornton And Gordon Thornton Have Reportedly ‘Separated’

In the recent Real Housewives of Potomactrailer, Mia Thornton and husband Gordon appeared to be threading rocky relationship waters. Now, a little over a month until the season premiere, the married couple is allegedly “separated.”

PEOPLE first reported the split on Friday (Sept. 29). Mia and Gordon wed in March 2012, marking this year as their 11th year married. They share two children together and one child each from previous relationships. Their first child together, Jeremiah Carter, is eight years old, and their second, Juliana, is six years old.

In a statement to the outlet, Mia Thornton said their family and privacy is the “priority” during this time.

“Like all marriages, ours has had its ups and downs. At this time, Gordon and I are separated, but my family is my number one priority, and I am committed to doing whatever it takes to make sure we are okay. We ask that you respect our privacy and give us the time and space to make sure we are okay.”

It’s unclear if the couple is still residing in the same home or if they plan to escalate their separation to divorce.

Mia Thornton Suggested She Married Gordon For His “Money” In Season Teaser

However, RHOP fans will likely see Mia and Gordon’s troubles play out on TV. In the new season’s teaser, Mia Thornton tells castmate Ashley Darby that she “might” have married Gordon Thornton for his coins.Mia also mentions that she once “obtained a divorce lawyer.”

In June, Mia penned a loving message on her Instagram feed for her husband, including a montage video of family moments.

“To my G, Thank you for being such a POWERFUL positive influence on our children. I admire the way you love, nurture, and empower our babies to be the best versions of themselves. Thank you for loving us and being a great dad!”

As of Monday, Mia nor Gordon have made statements on their social media about the separation.

Mia’s separation isn’t the only marriage woe announced last week. Former RHOP stars Monique and Chris Samuels have reportedly finalized their divorce — and like Mia Thornton and Gordon, they had been married for 11 years.
