Cam Newton‘s ex-girlfriend is spilling the details of his betrayal during their former relationship. In a video released on Sunday (Sept. 1), Kia Proctor opened up about him having an “outside baby” with LaReina Shaw.

According to Essence, Kia and Newton began dating in 2013 and remained together for about seven years before splitting in 2020. During that time, they welcomed his first four biological children. Additionally, he continues to publicly claim her eldest daughter from another relationship as his own. As Proctor revealed, he welcomed one child with LaReina in 2020 and also claims her eldest son as his own.
He is the father and stepfather of eight children. Earlier this year, he welcomed his youngest with Jasmin Brown. They’ve been reportedly dating since 2021.

Speaking on her YouTube platform, ‘Shade Of Kia,’ the mother of five clarified that she and Cam were never married. Moreover, she suggested that Newton tried forcing her to accept his betrayal.
“The relationship, I thought it was headed towards marriage and then my partner at the time had an outside baby. He kinda wanted to force it on me, and I wasn’t really ready to…I mean, I don’t really know how to describe this or talk about this. He had a baby outside of our relationship that I was not okay with.”
After uncovering the betrayal, Kia Proctor says she decided to move on. She had believed they “had something special.” However, when the baby incident happened, Proctor said she felt like she “had no other choice than to leave.”
“I had to choose me and my kids over what he was about to put me through,” Cam Newton’s ex shared.
On another note, she credited Cam for their “great co-parenting schedule.” She said it’s been a “work in progress” that’s getting better and will continue to do so with time. She also revealed that they switch off every Sunday on who has the kids. Meanwhile, LaReina Shaw seemingly has not responded to Kia’s comments.

Kia’s “truth,” as her YouTube video is titled, comes during a viral couple of days for Cam Newton. The former pro-athlete recently had psychologist Dr. Cheyenne Bryant on his podcast. During their chat, they touched on Newton’s eight children, spread across three different homes. He revealed to Dr. Bryant he wants more children, and said that desire outweighs the desire to get married.
Social media users took a few clips from their talk and ran with it! Folks were firing both him and his current girlfriend, Jasmin Brown, over his comments, especially when he seemingly indicated he’s still searching for his wife.
Not long after the clips started trending, he stepped out with Jasmin to a bar setting. A video shared on Instagram shows the couple singing to each other. After that, Jasmin took to her Instagram Stories to speak about her love for serving others.
