Roommates, if at first you don’t succeed–y’all know the rest! One man from Canada definitely did not let a few L’s hold him back, and he is now $60 million richer.
According to CNN, Bon Truong of Edmonton, Canada says he knew his lottery numbers were winners, regardless of the time frame! After 20 years of playing the same lottery numbers, he can finally show and prove what he had been saying all along.
Bon reportedly won the Lotto Max jackpot back in October, and waited almost 10 months after the win to claim his prize.
“I started to think about what this win would mean for my family,” he says.”I realized it’s going to change a lot of things and I wanted to make sure we are all ready and prepared for those changes.”
Bon was so unsure of the win, he reportedly went to the store and had the clerk re-print them to be sure. He then took them home and checked them for hours. His winning numbers were 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 20 and 30. He tells a local news outlet the numbers are a combination of important dates and family birthdays.
“The first thing I thought was, ‘I’m going to be able to pay off everything!’ and I was happy to do just that,” he says.
As for his plans for the winnings, Bon says he first wants to buy his family a new home. He also says he wants to plan a large family vacation out of the country, and the remainder of the funds will go into his savings for the future.
Bon’s $60 million is reportedly tied as the largest ever Lotto Max win in Canadian history, as a couple won $60 million back in September 2017.
