Canadian Teen’s Dying Wish To Meet LeBron James Came True On Christmas!

TSR Positive Images: While it’s easy to get caught up in all the materialistic gifting on Christmas, I’d love to remind you of the gifts that are priceless. A Canadian teen learned that dreams do come true after his dying wish to meet LeBron James and shake his hand was granted on Christmas Day!

Corey Groves, 17, was diagnosed with stage four sarcoma cancer and was told he only has one year to live. He told the Toronto Sun that before he became ill, he would eat and sleep basketball.

“Chances are (being in LA for the Christmas Day game) will be my last holiday ever.  I’m hoping to spread the word and maybe get LeBron’s attention so I can shake my hero’s hand,” Corey said. He flew out for the Christmas Day game and was able to meet LeBron James during the team’s walkthrough.

Corey posted the special meeting on his Instagram page, which has garnered a massive following.

“Merry Christmas,”Corey wrote. “I got my wish. So thankful to everyone that helped make this happen.”

Corey was diagnosed with the deadly cancer about six months ago. Following his meeting with his hero LeBron, whom he admires for doing good on and off the court, Corey plans to explore the world and meet others with the help of his supporters.

We’re glad LeBron was able to help make Corey’s dream come true!
