Cardi B Awarded $1.25 Million In Defamation Lawsuit Win Against Tasha K

As Tasha K said in her response to losing Cardi B’s defamation lawsuit against her, it’s time to get “back to work.” According to circulating court documents, a jury awarded Cardi a hefty amount of coins for Tasha K’s lies about her. Both Tasha, whose real name is Latasha Kebe, and her company Kebe Studios LLC will have to pay Cardi $1.25 million.

Tasha K Found Guilty

Tasha and her company were found liable for defamation, invasion of privacy through false light portrayal and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Cardi secured $1 million for in general damages including “pain and suffering and/or reputational injury.” The jury also awarded Cardi $250,000 in medical expenses, but the viral court documents did not detail what kind of expenses.

Shortly after the initial loss news broke, Tasha took to her social media with a response.

“My husband, attorneys & I fought really hard,” Tasha tweeted. “I want to thank them for their long hours and sleepless nights. Winos it’s only up from here. See y’all in a few days. Back to work.”

As previously reported, Cardi brought a lawsuit against Tasha K in 2019. This decision came following multiple attempts from Cardi to shut down Tasha K’s false storytelling about the rapper. These fake stories included allegations that Cardi contracted several sexually transmitted infections, including herpes. Tasha also alleged the Bronx native committed sexually explicit acts during her time as a stripper such as having penetrative sex with beer bottles. She also accused the mother and wife of cheating on her husband Offset.

Cardi B Testifies

A little over a week ago, Cardi testified that she “wanted to commit suicide” due to Tasha K’s fake storytelling.

“I felt defeated and depressed and I didn’t want to sleep with my husband,” she testified.

Additionally, the artist said she experienced fatigue, anxiety, weight loss and migraines from the ongoing backlash. She even sought therapy to cope with the mess.

At the time of publication, Cardi hadn’t publicly responded to her win in court. Additional updates are expected on Tuesday.
