Former baseball player Carl Crawford is behind bars in Texas for alleged domestic violence, according to TMZ Sports.
The details surrounding the incident aren’t clear but jail records show Carl Crawford is facing a charge of assault on a family or household member and “impede breath/circulat” which usually means there’s been an allegation of choking involved.
Authorities say Carl surrendered to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office earlier today.
Carl is currently in custody, being held on a $10,000 bond.
It wasn’t immediately clear if this most recent incident has anything to do with the tragic drownings that took place at his Houston home. We previously reported that a woman and a child died at Carl’s home after they reportedly fell in a pool and drowned.
While details about that incident also remain unclear, Carl released a statement following the accident, expressing his sympathy.
“My (Heart’s) Heavy. The tragic events that occurred at my home will be with me forever. I’m at a loss for words I’ve struggled all week to manage my emotions and I keep thinking of the families of those who’ve passed and their grief, I know they have it the hardest.”
He continued, “They are the first and last thing I think of these days. Please keep them in your prayers, I know they will always be in mine.”
In regard to Thursday’s incident, the identity of the alleged victim has yet to be released.
