Final Destination IRL?!
On May 19, Fiamma Villaverde, a 29-year-old woman from Berisso, Argentina, decided to make a stop at a local movie theater in La Plata. It was her birthday, and to celebrate, she decided to catch ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines.’ Additionally, her 11-year-old daughter and a friend tagged along – partly because tickets were cheaper than usual. But, about halfway through the film, the suspense seemingly turned all too real. A loud noise shook the theater and, within seconds, a chunk of the ceiling came crashing down, landing right on Fiamma.
According to translated reports from Infobae, Fiamma said,
“There was a loud noise. At first, we thought it was part of the movie because we were really into it, but then a chunk fell on me… It didn’t hit my head because I happened to be leaning over the armrest,” she added.

Right after the incident, Villaverde went straight to the ticket counter to request a refund while staff at the theater called for an ambulance. She says a manager approached her asking, “How do you want to settle this?”—a question that apparently didn’t sit right with her.
“Settle what? I’m going to file a complaint. What if it had hit my daughter in the head? You’re irresponsible!” she reportedly responded.
Emergency responders offered to take her to the hospital and cover her medical expenses. However, Villaverde chose to seek care at a nearby hospital in Berisso on her own.
Fiamma Villaverde Provides An Update
Fiamma, who works as a nightclub cleaner and is the sole caregiver for her daughter, hasn’t been able to return to work. She hasn’t filed a formal complaint yet, but has spoken with a lawyer.
Villaverde didn’t hold back about the aftermath of the incident.
“I was furious … They did an X-ray. The diagnosis was trauma from the impact.”
Despite having “several bruises,” she mentioned needing another X-ray on her “back in a few days,” per reports.
She’s since been dealing with panic attacks and anxiety.
“It’s hard for me to be in crowded places,” she said.
Villaverde also added that she hasn’t been able to work “for days” and wants someone to be held responsible for the incident.
