Drake is a Canadian rapper best known for his chart-topping hits such as “One Dance” and “Hotline Bling”. He is now one of the most influential rappers of this generation. Whether he’s dropping a new album or making headlines for his latest feud, Drake is always making the headlines.

Early Life

Drake, born Aubrey Drake Graham, was born in Toronto on October 24th. 1986. Growing up in Toronto, Drake dreamed of making it big. His first shot at fame was at 15 years old when he landed a role on the Canadian teen drama Degrassi: The Next Generation.

While starring in Degrassi, Drake also began to propel his rap career. In 2006, he released his first mixtape, Room for Improvement and sold approximately 6,000 copies.

Rise to Fame & Musical Career

In 2008, after Degrassi eliminated Drake’s character, Drake received a call from none other than Lil Wayne asking him to join his Carter III tour. After touring with Lil Wayne, Drake released his third mixtape So Far Gone which featured Best I Ever Had, No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, and Succesful a collaboration between Lil Wayne and Trey Songz.

In 2009, Drake signed onto Lil Wayne’s label Young Money Entertainment. From there on out, Drake has grown to become one of the most talked-about and listened-to rap artists of this generation.

Over the years Drank has won 3 Grammys – Best Rap Album: Take Care, Best Rap/Sung Performance & Best Rap Song: Hotline Bling. In total, he’s been nominated for 35 Grammys.

Drake has run into his fair share of controversy – from getting into disputes with other artists like Kanye West and Chris Brown to his on-again-off-again relationship with Rihanna. The rapper is prone to controversy and we expect nothing different in the years to come.
