Early Life
LisaRaye was born on September 23rd, 1967, in Chicago, Illinois. Her father, David Ray McCoy, was a well-known Chicago businessman, while her mother Katie McCoy was a former model.
She was always interested in acting, but never took it as a serious career path in her youth, so she focused on her education. She attended St. James College Prep, Kenwood Academy, and graduated from Thornridge High School in 1996. She attended Eastern Illinois University, where her roommate persuaded her to attend a local audition and start acting.
Ever since then, LisaRaye McCoy never looked back, and her vibrant smile and charming personality landed her many exciting roles.
Career
LisaRaye’s made her acting debut as the lead character in the independent film Reasons. While the movie itself didn’t become a commercial hit, LisaRaye received critical appraise, which pushed her acting career forward.
Over the years, she’s made appearances in numerous films and TV series, including Moesha, In the House, and The Parent ‘Hood. However, she didn’t make a name for herself in the industry until she was cast as Diana Armstrong in Ice Cube’s film The Players Club from 1998. To this day, this is perhaps her best-known role.
Between 2003 and 2007, LisaRaye played Neesee James in The CW sitcom All of Us, after which she embarked on a fashion model career path.
She’s appeared in numerous music videos, Tupac Shakur’s Toss It Up, Lil’ Kim’s Download, and Ginuwine’s Last Chance, among many others.

Awards

In 1989, LisaRaye welcomed her only daughter Kai Morae Pace with then-partner Kenji Pace. Kai Morae Pace is now a model, and is the new face of Evans, a popular plus-size clothing retailer in the UK.

LisaRaye is known for her fiery personality, and she’s also known to hold a grudge. Although she divorced Misick over a decade ago, she’s still taking jabs at Nicole Murphy for sleeping with her now ex-husband. Her feud with Duane Martin is still going strong as well, as LisaRaye claims Martin contributed to her divorce with Misick.
