Chaka Khan, Tina Turner And Jay Z Among 2021 Rock & Roll Hall

Chaka Khan, Tina Turner And Jay Z Among 2021 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees

There are many accomplishments that artists look forward to in their careers. From Grammy awards, to receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Another major accolade is being a part of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which just announced its list of 2021 nominees–and some of your favorites are on the list!

Jay Z, Tina Turner, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, LL Cool J, and Dionne Warwick are some of the nominees, to name a few, according to CNN. All of these artists have careers that span over decades, and they are all still very influential in the culture. Inductees will be announced in May, and the induction ceremony will take place in Cleveland, Ohio, at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame museum this fall. To be eligible, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years before the year of nomination.

The public will have the opportunity to participate in the induction selection process to vote for their favorite artist! Now through April 30th, fans can vote every day up to five times a day through the Hall of Fame’s website or in person at the museum. The top five artists selected by the public will comprise a “fans’ ballot” that will be included along with the other ballots to pick the 2021 inductees.

The full list includes 16 nominees, and so far, Tina Turner is in the lead with over 2,500 votes. The great thing about this particular award is an artist can be nominated a few times. Chaka Khan was nominated three times with her group Rufus, and LL has also been nominated several times. We are hoping that this year will be the lucky year for some of your favorite artists! Roomies, who will you be voting for?
