Charlotte Officers Who Cited DaBaby Are Being Investigated

TSR Updatez: Following DaBaby’s arrest last night in Charlotte, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department decided to publicly speak on the situation.

As we reported last night, DaBaby alleged that officers illegally searched him in his hometown right after he performed and hosted a toy giveaway. Following his arrest, DaBaby was let go and cited him.

The department confirmed that officers arrested DaBaby and charged him with misdemeanor possession of marijuana, resisting and obstruction. He was issued two citations before he was let go, according to police.

The department also said that it is launching an Internal Affairs investigation to determine if officers “followed department policies and directives” during the incident.

Its wasn’t immediately clear if the department would be placing those officers on leave. DaBaby has yet to speak on the investigation.
