Chris Brown‘s former housekeeper isn’t playin’ about her money, chile! Maria Avila won a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against the singer after being mauled by his dog. And now, she allegedly wants Brown arrested over the matter.
The drama surrounding Chris Brown and his ex-housekeeper’s multi-million-dollar settlement is escalating, and it could lead to the ‘It Depends‘ singer’s arrest. According to TMZ, Maria Avila filed documents requesting that the court issue an arrest warrant for Brown.
Avila won a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Brown stemming from a 2020 dog-bite incident, and, basically, she claims Brown is fronting by not providing dates to examine his finances. She reportedly claimed in court documents that the information provided so far was incomplete and:
“calls into question the accuracy and completeness of [Chris] disclosure with respect to payment sources associated with his ongoing tour.”
The Shade Room reported that Brown was ordered to pay Avila $12.9 million after she was attacked by his 200-pound guard dog at his home in Tarzana, California. The incident occurred back in 2020, and the ex-housekeeper claimed to be disfigured by the attack during a civil trial, according to Rolling Stone.
Avila was taking out the garbage when she was attacked. Brown later testified that he’d previously told her not to go outside without security. In addition, he admitted to leaving the scene after seeing the blood to avoid a media “circus.” Brown testified that he heard the dog growling. After he ran out of the house, he saw Avila lying outside his front door. Furthermore, he added that she was bloodied and not moving.
“The blood kind of freaked me out,” he recalled. “a lot of blood.”
In addition, Avila said she was diagnosed with PTSD and has severe scarring on her face and left arm. Avila also had skin-graft surgery.
The Shade Room reported that Avila agreed to accept $9.5 million of her $12.9 million settlement in September 2026. She was awarded $12.9 million in June 2026. However, Brown’s attorneys filed a motion for a new trial, citing the amount as excessive. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge agreed that the sum was excessive and granted the motion on Tuesday, September 29, per the Los Angeles Times. The judge gave Avila the choice of going to trial over the settlement or accepting $9.5 million, and she chose the money. However, judging from her filing, it would seem that she is done waiting for the dough.
