Rihanna and A$AP Rocky reportedly welcomed their baby boy last week and news of the healthy birth hit the media on Thursday afternoon. As messages of well wishes started to flood in across social media platforms, Chris Brown seemingly showed the couple love too.
Shortly after the news broke, Chris took to his IG story to say, “CONGRATULATIONS” accompanied by a heart, prayer hands and a pregnant woman emoji.
Chris Brown and Rihanna’s public relationship ended more than 10 years ago following a domestic violence incident that left the Fenty founder with multiple injuries and bruising to he face. Unfortunately, Rihanna was hospitalized and Chris turned himself in to authorities.
Brown pled guilty to felony assault and struck a plea deal to serve 5 years on probation, do community labor and participate in domestic violence counseling. He was also subject to a 5-year restraining order to keep him away from Rih.
Just a few years later, Rihanna revealed that she and Chris were working on re-building their relationship as friends. In the 2012 interview, Rih stated that Chris was the love of her life, and she would always have love for him.
“We’ve been working on our friendship again. Now we’re very, very, very close friends. We’ve built up a trust again…We love each other and we probably always will. And that’s not something we’re ever going to change. That’s not something you can shut off, if you’ve ever been in love. I think he was the love of my life. He was the first love. And I see that he loved me the same way.”
Since then, Chris has moved forward with pursuing other romantic relationships and has welcomed three of his own children into the world–Royalty, 7, Aeko, 2 and Lovely, 4 months.
