The multi-talented artist sat down with HOT 97 to talk about his new album, his darling daughter, Royalty, and he also digs a little deeper and opens up about the insecurities he has as a man. From back when Chris was singing ‘Excuse Me Miss’ to thousands of teenage girls across the world to singing something a little more adult…like ‘Back to Sleep’. We have watched Chris Brown grow up and become a man and now a father.
Chris discusses his first reaction when finding about Royalty, “You know how you’re on a roller coaster right? And it’s about to go down and you’re like ‘MANNN!’ It was that at first. Then I got the chance to sit with myself and pray. Then I got to see my daughter and I was like I love it. I’m cool. I’m not going to be that statistic. I’ll be the dad.” A man accepting his responsibility is what I like to see and that’s what Chris has done. He has always declared how much he accepts his wrong doings and has apologized for them.
Now we all have seen Chris date his fair share of women and his last couple of relationships have been a little more…eccentric and explicit than others, but the people still want to know what his relationship is like now with his exes.
So when asked about his most recent and very public relationship with actress, Karrueche Tran, he didn’t have much to say, but he did say this, “I can only wish for the best for that person and whoever lives I’ve messed up. I can only apologize if that’s how they feel. More blessings and much success to them.”
I’m not sure if any of you recall, but in an interview recently, Rihanna was asked about why she even stayed with Chris after everything. She said because she thought she could save him from himself, basically. In this sit down with HOT 97, Chris has responded to her statement and said, “It’s life. Everybody has to go through certain situations. Where I’m at in my life it doesn’t consist of me being negative or speaking on certain people. I’m just focused on me and wish everyone else the best.”
Just like everyone, Chris Brown has insecurities too. He opens up about them and how he has overcome them. He says, “Everybody has it. For me, I was insecure about what people thought about me, how my peers treated me. I had to find a sense of calm. With me, I had to stop focusing on bullsh*t and let me focus on what I’m great at and not dim anyone else’s light around me.” He explains further, “I’ve made peace with my past. I’ve made peace with who I am as a person. I actually like me right now. I don’t have a doubt in my mind of my capabilities or my purpose to be on this earth. I think I’m supposed to have that. It’s supposed to be a negative with a positive.”
