Chris Tucker Does a Dance Tribute to Michael Jackson
Chris took center stage on day one to celebrate Michael Jackson’s legacy. As the King of Pop’s hit ‘You Rock My World’ blasted through the speakers, Tucker hyped up the crowd, who cheered on. Dressed in a black leather jacket and jeans, he channeled the singer’s dancing, mimicking Jackson’s choreography with a playful twist that kept the audience engaged.
In the clip, you can even hear one female attendee saying, “Alright, alright,” clearly impressed by Tucker’s showmanship. The block party, a two-day event honoring the Jackson family, per the official Gary government page, has dedicated August 29 solely to MJ, while August 30 celebrates the Jacksons collectively, including Janet Jackson and the Jackson 5.

Chris Tucker Recently Showed Off His MJ Moves at Essence Fest
Tucker’s devotion to honoring Jackson extends far beyond the block party. In July, during Essence Fest, he was spotted in the crowd, grooving to Jackson’s classic hit ‘Billie Jean.’ Without hesitation, Tucker, dressed in an all-white fit, showcased his dance skills, including a smooth leg kick, and it was low-key giving MJ, okay. Tucker’s connection to Jackson runs deep, with moments like these demonstrating that he’s going to celebrate his friend whenever and wherever.
Chris Tucker Previously Revealed How He Turned A Private Jet Around To Meet Michael Jackson
Tucker’s admiration for Jackson wasn’t just professional; it was also deeply personal. In a past GQ interview, conducted in 2023, he shared a story that highlighted his love for the ‘Thriller’ hitmaker. While in New York for two days, hoping to meet the ‘Black or White’ star, Tucker says he grew impatient and boarded a private jet back to Los Angeles. Just as he landed, however, he received a message that Jackson wanted to meet in the Big Apple the next morning.
Determined, Tucker convinced the pilot to turn the plane around, saying, “I’ll pay you whatever you want to take me back to New York.” Tucker would go on to form such a close bond with MJ that he even testified on the singer’s behalf in his 2005 trial. Needless to say, Tucker is standing ten toes down for Jackson and will seemingly continue to help keep his legacy alive.
