Wisconsin woman, Chrystul Kizer, is facing more than a decade in prison after allegedly surviving sexual abuse as a teenager. In May, Kizer copped a guilty plea after admitting she murdered Randall Volar III in 2018.

During her plea, the now 24-year-old claimed Randall had been both molesting and sex trafficking her since she was 16 years old.

Here’s How Much Time Chrystul Kizer Will Do Behind Bars

According to the Associated Press, a Milwaukee judge sentenced Chrystul Kizer to 11 years in prison and five years of supervised supervision on Monday. Judge David Wilk allowed 750 days to count as time served, bringing Kizer’s time behind bars down by about a year and a half (nearly 10 years).

However, the 24-year-old is not eligible for any of the Department of Corrections’ early release programs. This means Chrystul Kizer will likely remain behind bars until 2033.

“The court is well aware of your circumstances surrounding your relationship with Mr. Volar,” Judge Wilk said while delivering the sentencing, per the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “You are not permitted to be the instrument of his reckoning. To hold otherwise is to endorse a descent into lawlessness and chaos.”

Accepting a guilty plea in May allowed Chrystul to avoid trial and a possible life sentence, AP reports. She reportedly presented a written statement in court, per the Journal Sentinel. In addition to offering her apologies to Volar’s family, she quoted the Bible in her written word. Her lawyer shared that she was baptized while imprisoned.

“I don’t know where to start, but I’m asking for your generosity in my sentence today. I understand that I committed sins that put the Volar family in a lot of pain,” Kizer’s written statement said.

This Is What Went Down Between Kizer & Randall Volar

As suggested above, Chrystul Kizer and Randall Volar III reportedly met via a sex trafficking website when she was 16, and he was 33. She had posted an ad, and Volar responded to it.

At the time, Valor was reportedly already under investigation for sexual conduct with minors, particularly Black girls as young as 12 years old. In fact, he was arrested for related charges in February 2018 but later released without bail. A few months later, in June 2018, Chrystul Kizer shot and killed him when he reportedly tried to touch her. Moreover, the then 17-year-old set his house on fire and fled the scene in his BMW.

AP reports that Valor had been allegedly molesting Kizer for a year leading up to his death.  Additionally, the Journal Sentinel reports that Volar bailed Kizer out of jail for a previous offense and used the favor to traffic her to other men at a Milwaukee hotel.

However, prosecutors involved in the case have shut down that narrative. In court, District Attorney Michael Graveley cited a lack of election evidence supporting Kizer’s claims of being a “sex trafficking victim.”  Instead, the D.A. says her social media videos and texts after the act show she killed Valor for notoriety and material gain.

Chrystul Kizer’s case sparked a nationwide outcry, particularly from sex trafficking victims and organizations, when she was first arrested six years ago.
