Ciara Named As Host Of The 2019 American Music Awards!

Awards season is in full effect, as the achievements and honors in entertainment are being celebrated at several award shows. In just a few weeks, the 2019 American Music Awards will air—and they have finally announced this year’s host, none other than Mrs. Wilson herself, Ciara!

In addition to her duties as a singer, wife and mom, Ciara is now adding American Music Awards host to her lengthy resume. As reported by @EntertainmentTonight, Cici will host the 47th annual ceremony, which will air live from the LA Microsoft Theater on ABC on November 24th beginning at 8PM.

Ciara, who has been previously nominated for two American Music Awards in 2005 and 2013, both for Favorite Soul/R&B Artist, explained that hosting the show this year is very special to her because she is also celebrating the 15th anniversary of her debut album “Goodies.”

Speaking on the career milestone, she had this to say:

“It’s special. It’s kind of surreal — it’s like pinching myself, and going, ‘This is literally 15 years ago.’ Like, 15 years ago sounds so far away. To see this generation dancing to that song like it’s a new song, and it’s falling right into the pocket of what’s happening now, it’s kind of crazy. It also shows you the cycle of music and how different times repeat themselves all over again.”

Ciara continued, adding:

“I feel motivated, like when I was younger. Everything happened so fast. Literally one song was No. 1, one song was top three, next song was top three. Naturally, you can kind of just keep rolling with it versus soaking in the moment when it’s happening.”

This year’s line-up of performers include, Ke$ha, Big Freedia, Lizzo, Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, Thomas Rhett and Shania Twain.
