Whew! Roommates, Claressa Shields came through with some words after Laila Ali’s team said no to their fight. TMZ caught up with the boxing champ recently, and she said she feels like they’re only saying no, because Laila’s “scared” to duke it out with her in the ring.

Claressa Shields Calls Out Laila Ali’s Team For Dodging Their Fight
If you were waiting to see Claressa Shields and Laila Ali throw down, hate to burst your bubble, but it’s not happening. Claressa talked about Laila’s team saying no during a recent run-in with TMZ. When they asked her about the fight status, she said they flat-out said no, and if she were Laila, she wouldn’t fight here either.
“Laila and her representatives have told us no. Like, the answer is ‘no.’ She doesn’t want to fight. And that’s fine. I have no problem with that. I’m not upset. I mean, I wouldn’t fight me either. You know what I’m saying? I understand that she’s scared. I’m moving on,” Shields explained.
However, Claressa said she thought the fight was going to happen since Laila was talking about securing $15 million, so went and got the money. Now she doesn’t get why Laila’s backing out, but she’s just focused on grinding and moving her career forward.
“I thought that she was about all that talk. She wanted $15 million. I went and got the $15 million. And now it’s all this backpedaling. So, you know, congrats to her on whatever she’s doing. But I’m moving on with my career,” Claressa added.
