The GWOAT recently got candid about what blended family life with Papoose could look like as their relationship continues to progress. And chileee, it looks like Claressa isn’t stressed about the future. She made it real clear that when that time comes, she plans to roll with the punches (no pun intended!)

Claressa Shields Gets Real About Preparing For Blended Family Life With Papoose
Okay, so BOOM! Claressa Shields recently pulled up on Angela Yee’s ‘Lip Service’ podcast and kept it real about how she plans to navigate blended family life with Papoose. Claressa and Pap don’t share any children together right now, but he has three kids — a daughter, Reminisce Mackenzie, with Remy Ma, and two other children from previous relationships, a daughter, Dejanae Mackie, and a son, Shamele Mackie.
Despite Claressa and Remy not exactly seeing eye to eye, the heavyweight boxing champion isn’t worried about what the future might bring. Claressa said she’s simply “going with the flow” and doesn’t plan to force anything when it comes to blending families. Instead, she’s letting things play out naturally and waiting to see what the future holds.

“I’m not gonna try to force nothing. Like I said, it’s a whole little court going on they have to get that finished and I don’t know how that would be after, but I’m not gonna worry myself with that,” Shields said.
From there, Shields said knowing that Papoose will always show up as a great father makes matters much easier. However, she still plans to cross that bridge when she gets there.
“I know that he will always be an excellent father to his kids and that’s what he’s gon’ do.” Shields added, “Now, blended family […] however it comes, it get dealt with […] hey, I’m not gonna stress myself about it.”

Claressa has never shied away from speaking on her future with Papoose. Back in December 2025, the boxing champ spilled all the tea about their baby plans during a chat with Fight Hype. At the time, Claressa said she hoped to have a baby this year, but she wanted to knock out a few fights first so she could fully focus on starting a family with Pap. In other instances, Shields has also made it clear that she doesn’t want to wait until her 40s or until she hangs up her gloves to become a mom. Instead, she wants to juggle motherhood AND her boxing career at the same time. Okayyy, future boss mom energy!
“I want to be able to run at the park with my kids and stuff like that. I don’t want to be too old. So, I think keeping my body in shape.. I don’t drink or smoke. I think that will also help me too, when I’m going through this whole body and life change,” Shields explained.
