Columbia Records Responds To Lil Nas X Over Streaming Issues For ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’

Lil Nas X’s name continues to stay in headlines ever since he released the music video to his latest controversial song, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” which is currently number one on the global Spotify chart. Though most of the time, he seems to be very carefree and not feed into negativity, there is a current issue that seems to have him bothered. Earlier today, Nas responded to a fan who said they were having issues with streaming the song on Spotify. Nas, who was aware of the issue, responded by tweeting, “It’s happening on all the streaming services,” with the sad face emoji.

Nas promptly announced to his fans, instructing them to start streaming the song because it may be being removed from streaming platforms and that he would be uploading it to adult site Pornhub. He tweeted, “Since ‘Call Me By Your Name’ is no longer working on many streaming services, I will be uploading the audio to pornhub at 3 pm EST. Not even joking. Everybody stream ‘Call Me By Your Name’ hard today because it may no longer be available tomorrow, and there’s nothing I can really do about it. Thanks for all the support, though.”

It appears after this, many of his fans started flooding Columbia Record about the issue. The company addressed Nas’ fans via Twitter, writing, “Thanks for all your comments regarding @LilNasX “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).” It’s unfortunately out of our control, but we are doing everything possible to keep the song up on streaming services. We will keep you up to date as we hear more. Thank you for understanding.”

Although Nas’ fans were upset about this happening, some of the Roommates felt like the song should be removed due to all of the controversy. One Roommate commented, “When you play with GOD, that’s what you get.” Nas even stepped into The Shade Room to address commenters. He said, “y’all didn’t get the message of the video, so y’all hate me. It’s all good tho. much love to y’all.”
