It’s Official! Watch Common Confirm He’s Dating Jennifer Hudson While On Her Talk Show

The confirmation is finally in! After months of speculation from fans, Commonhas seemingly confirmed he and Jennifer Hudson are dating!

Common shared the life update during his guest appearance on Jennifer Hudson’s self-titled talk show. Although the full episode doesn’t air until today (Jan. 22), fans learned Common and J-Hud are off-the-market through a teaser clip on social media.

The short tease starts with Jennifer Hudson asking if he’s “dating anybody.” At first, Common laughs, then confirms he’s spoken for!

“Yes, I’m in a relationship that’s one of the most beautiful people I’ve ever met in life and she’s smart, she loves God, she has something real down to Earth about her,” Common said.”She’s talented, but I set my standard kinda high cause she had to have a EGOT. She had to win an Oscar on her first movie. I set my standards high. She had to get her own talk show.”

Meanwhile, Jennifer sat by, chuckling and smiling at Common’s comments. Unfortunately, the teaser clip lived up to its name and let curious viewers in on Jennifer’s complete reaction.

But for those of you who need the facts behind Common’s statements, here they are. Jennifer Hudson became an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) winner in June 2022, per CNN. She won her first Oscar in 2007 for her performance in ‘Dreamgirls’ — her first acting role. J-Hud also won two Grammys in 2009 and 2017 and a Daytime Emmy in 2021. And, obviously, J-Hud is the host of her own talk show.

Fans Speculated The Common & Jennifer Hudson Romance MONTHS Ago

As mentioned, rumors of a romance between these Chicagoans started in September 2022. At the time, the pair were filming as husband and wife in the movie ‘Breathe’ — set to be released this year. Jennifer shut down the talks in a comment to Entertainment Tonight.

However, by February 2023, TMZ reported seeing them at NOBU in Malibu. By May, paparazzi captured photos of Common and Jennifer Hudson reportedly enjoying a stroll in her Chicago neighborhood.

Months later, in August, Jennifer called Common a “beautiful man” but didn’t clarify whether that man was hers!

Then, in November, another photo of them hand-in-hand in NYC surfaced. Days before, Jen had confirmed she was in a serious relationship. She told Gayle King she was in a “happy” relationship that was “more sophisticated than boo’ed up” and “definitely not an entanglement.”

On Sunday evening, after the teaser clip went live, Common took to his Instagram Story to thank his lady for the interview!

“Nothing but love and great times on the @jenniferhudsonshow. Thank you Jennifer for having me.”
