At least two people have been confirmed dead following a plane crash at Marana Regional Airport in Arizona.

More Details On The Plane Crash At Marana Regional Airport In Arizona

According to KGUN9, the crash occurred at Marana Regional Airport on the morning of Wednesday, February 19, around 8:30 a.m. Per the outlet, the incident has been considered an “aircraft collision” by the Marana Police Department. Additionally, the department revealed via X, formerly known as Twitter, that one person has been confirmed dead.

Furthermore, the department noted that the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and the NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) will be responding to the incident.

Blake Phillips, a reporter for the outlet, shared photos of the scene via X. The outlet notes that a crew is on-site and will share more information as it becomes available.

Additionally, Phillips also confirmed that the incident was indeed a plane crash involving two crafts.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, victims of the incident have yet to be publicly identified. Additionally, what caused the crash remains unclear.

Around 1 p.m., Phillips confirmed via X that two people passed away from the incident, per the Marana Police Department.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, the FAA reportedly believes the planes collided mid-air, and two people were onboard each plane. Per the outlet, the victims remain publicly unidentified.

NTSB is investigating a mid-air collision between Cessna 172S and Lancair 360 MK II near Marana, Arizona.

The Crash Follows Another Small Plane Crash In Covington, Georgia

According to PEOPLE,  a husband and wife were killed in a small plane crash in Covington, Georgia, shortly before midnight on Saturday, February 15. The plane was a single-engine aircraft that had taken off just after 11:00 p.m.

“There was no further communication from the aircraft after takeoff. Officers located the aircraft in the woods just north of the runway. Two individuals were located with the aircraft and were pronounced deceased at the scene,” the Covington Police Department reportedly asserted in a press release.

Per the outlet, the couple was identified as 62-year-old James Hardee and 59-year-old Janet Hardee, a first-grade teacher. Additionally, PEOPLE notes that the incident remains under investigation by the NTSB.

The Incidents Follow A String Of SHOCKING Events In Aviation

The incident in Arizona follows shocking recent events in aviation. As The Shade Room previously reported, in January, a military jet collided with an American Airlines passenger plane near Reagan National Airport leaving a total of 67 people deceased.

A few days later, a Learjet carrying a total of six people crash into the streets of Northeast Philadelphia, per The Shade Room. According to 6abc Philadelphia, the incident killed a total of 7 people and injured 24 others.

Subsequently, a fatal crash occurred in the Philippines, another flight left two Navy pilots ejected after their craft crashed into the San Deigo Bay, an earlier this week, a Delta plane made a crash landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
