#Roommates, as predicted for several weeks before it was officially announced, many political experts anticipated that any woman chosen by Joe Biden to be his VP pick would getting dragged in the media—and based on recent comments about Kamala Harris, they were right. Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh has recently caused a firestorm on social media after he referred to Kamala Harris as a “h*e” and proceeded to insinuate that her political career was due to her personal relationships.
@Newsweek reports, Rush Limbaugh, who has a very long and disturbing history of using slurs to refer to women, recently referenced vice president pick Senator Kamala Harris by using the sexist slur “h*e.” While reading an article about how Harris “brazenly slept her way” into politics, he repeated and seemingly agreed with a meme referencing Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as “Joe and the h*e.” The right-wing host was talking about the recent firing of veteran NBA photographer Bill Baptist, who shared the meme on Facebook
During his August 14th show, Limbaugh never condemns the sexist language and immediately moves on to discuss an article titled, “Why It Should Matter to Women That Kamala Harris Slept Her Way Up.” The article discussed Harris’ relationship 30 years ago with Willie Brown, a former speaker of the California Assembly and mayor of San Francisco.
During the segment, as he was pulling quotes, he added, “It is no secret but public knowledge that Kamala Harris slept her way up into California political life by being a very public escort and mattress for California Democrat kingmaker Willie Brown. Now, some people read this story and said, ‘Mattress? Didn’t he mean mistress?’ No, I think, they meant mattress here.”
Earlier this month, Limbaugh also said this about Harris:
“If Joe Biden offers [her] the vice presidential slot, my advice to her would be to politely decline. Harris is a tested and proven campaigner who will work her backside… And, by the way, if anybody knows her backside, it’s Willie Brown. I mean in the biblical, intimate sense. He knows her backside. They’ve both acknowledged that she knows his, even though his backside is not as big as hers was.”
As of right now, Kamala Harris has not publicly responded to Rush Limbaugh’s comments.
