What started as an almost cartoonish moment—letting a chicken cross the road—spiraled into a real-life showdown. Complete with honking horns, road rage, and bear mace, this road rage incident escalated quickly. Now, one woman, Cynthia Sosa, faces multiple charges after allegedly instigating a confrontation with Perla DeMiller that turned serious over a bird.

Cynthia Was Big Mad Over A Chicken?!
According to reports, Cynthia Sosa, 38, stopped at a Key West intersection on July 9, allowing a chicken to cross. Another driver, reportedly impatient, honked and sped past her, running over the bird in the process. That’s when things took a sharp turn.
“She was stopped in traffic … waiting to let a chicken cross the road, when [the victim] began honking at her and later passed her, running over the chicken,” cops say.
Enraged by what she saw, Sosa allegedly pursued the driver, ultimately blocking their vehicle and attempting to open the door. As the two women struggled, Sosa reportedly pulled out a can of bear mace and sprayed the driver—identified as Perla DeMiller—directly in the face while she was still inside the car.
Cynthia Didn’t Have Time For It
Sosa fled the scene, leaving the victim disoriented and unable to follow her vehicle. However, in a plot twist, her car, a Toyota Corolla bearing Florida tags, was eventually spotted and pulled over. While the fate of the chicken is sadly sealed, the case now sits in the hands of the justice system.
“They began fighting over the door,” the report reveals. “Cynthia wanted to ‘teach her a lesson,’ so she pulled out her bear mace and sprayed it into the vehicle, spraying Perla directly in the face while she was seated inside.”
How Is The Poultry Revenge Being Handled?
According to the arrest report, police and medics were called to the scene to assist the woman, who had just been sprayed with mace, and her passenger. Additionally, the victim told officers she “was on her way to pick up her child from daycare” when the whole thing went down.
Furthermore, Sosa is being hit with serious repercussions. Her charges include two counts of aggravated battery and one count of burglary with assault or battery. In addition, after being booked into Monroe County Jail, she was released Monday night on a $35,000 bond. Her arraignment is on July 24, where she’ll have to answer for what officials are calling a dangerous overreaction.
