D4vd Taken Into Custody As Investigation Continues
According to reports cited by TMZ, D4vd, formerly known as David Anthony Burke, was recently taken into police custody in connection with the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. Authorities say the arrest was made by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division on Thursday April 16, at the L.A. home he was staying in. The singer is reportedly being held without bail as the case continues to unfold.
The reported arrest comes months after authorities previously discovered human remains in a vehicle linked to D4vd. As previously reported, police said his impounded Tesla was at a tow yard for a couple of days. Eventually, they discovered Celeste’s body inside a bag after it produced a foul odor, prompting an investigation. At the time, D4vd stepped away from the public eye and paused his tour as law enforcement looked into the case. Now, officials have indicated that more information is expected as the legal process moves forward.

Looks Like This Case Has Been Building For A Minute
It looks like this situation may have been building behind the scenes for a minute. Authorities didn’t publicly name D4vd as a suspect early on. However, court documents later revealed that prosecutors had already identified him as the target of a grand jury investigation tied to the case. Additionally, the filings reportedly reference a possible murder charge.
Documents also show that prosecutors issued subpoenas to multiple members of D4vd’s family. They even requested their testimony as part of the ongoing investigation. The paperwork, which had initially been sealed, became public after legal challenges, revealing that a vehicle connected to the case was allegedly registered using an address tied to his relatives. A judge ultimately ruled that the family members were required to comply and appear to testify, though it remains unclear what information has been provided so far as the case continues to unfold.
