Did you know that former Roc-A-Fella co founder, Dame Dash is feuding with world renowned movie director, Lee Daniels? Yeah, I didn’t either!
Well the $25 million lawsuit was filed back in September 2014 where Dash claims that stemming back to 2004, he invested millions into some of Lee Daniel’s films including, “The Woodsman”, “Precious”, “The Paperboy”, and “The Butler” but never was compensated for any of them.
Daniel’s responded to the lawsuit on November 12 stating that Dash is being unclear on which contract he actually violated because there were multiple contracts. He also explains that the contract for the film “The Woodsman” outlined the risks of investing in a motion picture as well as many factors that may lead to a film not being able to profit off the budget.The award winning director also states that the whole lawsuit should be thrown out because Dash’s complaint is extremely vague and doesn’t even know what contracts Dash is suing him over.
Well The Jasmine Brand exclusively reported, that on January 12, the rap mogul clapped back at Daniels stating that he is just trying to draw out the case so that it can be thrown out. He says that he has been very clear about the three contracts that were signed to help fund Daniels’ films and what he is suing for. He is also saying that Daniels in fact admitted to him that he owes him the millions and even tried to offer partial payments over the years.
This look like it’s getting a little ugly. I wonder if Lee Daniels produced the show Empire about his former sponsor because Dash is looking more and more like Cookie in this lawsuit! Well we just hope they can clear the air and get it together because neither of them need this negative press right now.
