Authorities have released footage from DaniLeigh’s 2023 arrest. The Shade Room reported that in May 2023, police arrested the R&B singer in Florida for a DUI hit-and-run with a moped.
The Akademy obtained body camera footage revealing what actually went down on the night police arrested DaniLeigh.
In one clip, the ‘Easy’ songstress cries as police handcuff her, insisting she didn’t hit anyone. However, officers tell her she caused the accident and have video proof. Later, police discover a 1942 Don Julio bottle in her car.
In another part of the video, Dani sits on the sidewalk as former Migos rapper Quavo and a friend approach to check on her. Dani pleads with the officers, saying she’s a celebrity and can’t afford to be linked to a crime. The officers then recognize her as a singer.
TMZ reported that Miami Beach police arrested DaniLeigh just hours after Memorial Day in 2023. The musician allegedly struck a moped driver and dragged the scooter for a block before officers stopped her.
Per TSR, Dani failed a field sobriety test and allegedly blew 0.148, far above the legal limit of 0.8%. Authorities took her to jail and reportedly charged her with three felonies driving under the influence, DUI damage to property/person, and fleeing the scene of a crash involving serious bodily injury.
Authorities revealed that the moped driver received medical treatment and was diagnosed with a kidney laceration and spinal fracture.
As previously mentioned by the Daily Mail, authorities booked the ‘Put U On’ artist at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, but she was released after posting a $9,500 bond.
As reported by The Shade Room, in February, DaniLeigh, whose real name is Danielle Leigh Curiel, received a five-year probation sentence. Her probation reportedly began on February 1 and will end on January 31, 2029.
