Roommates, following the intense backlash of her new song ‘Yellowbone’, DaniLeigh has been relatively quiet…until now. DaniLeigh recently reposted an episode of “The Breakfast Club” where Charlamagne Da God and DJ Envy seem to be agreeing with her explanation of what the song means.
To say the last few days for DaniLeigh have been intense would be an understatement, as she is still facing the severe backlash for releasing her new song ‘Yellowbone’, which is meant to be an anthem for “light skin baddies” according to her.
After the majority of fans and social media commenters collectively agreed that the song was definitely not it, DaniLeigh posted a series of tweets defending the song and letting her critics know that “only God can cancel her,” not them.
Fast forward to the present and DaniLeigh reposted a clip from a recent episode of ‘The Breakfast Club’, in which Charlamagne and DJ Envy appear to side with her, while questioning what all the fuss is about.
Charlamagne came out and asked why Dani’s song is considered problematic and colorist when it follows the same formula as “Brown Skin Girl” by Beyonce, and DJ Envy co-signed. He also added that Dani never said that light skin women were better in her song, after Angela Yee attempted to explain why many were upset.
