Sometimes, horror hits quieter towns with a jolt that nobody ever sees coming. Daricka Moore, 24, is now facing serious charges after six people—including a 7-year-old girl—were killed in a series of shootings Friday night across multiple locations in rural Clay County, Mississippi. The details that have emerged so far have left the small community reeling, and the full story is still coming together.

Suspect Allegedly Kills Family, 7-Year-Old Relative
According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, the spree began around 6:56 p.m. with a 911 call reporting gunshot victims on Blake Road in Cedar Bluff. Investigators say Daricka Moore allegedly first shot and killed three family members—his father Glen Moore, 67, his uncle Willie Ed Guines, 55, and his brother Quintin Moore, 33—at a home on David Hill Road. When deputies arrived, the victims were pronounced dead from gunshot wounds to the head. Moore then allegedly stole a truck from his brother and traveled to another home on Blake Road. In a horrifying turn, he reportedly forced his way inside and shot a 7-year-old girl, also related to him, in front of witnesses.
Moore Kills Two More, Including Local Pastor
However, the night of terror didn’t end there. Moore allegedly fled in the stolen vehicle to a third location on Siloam-Griffin Road. And, deputies found the truck hidden behind the home and signs of forced entry. Authorities found two more victims, Barry Bradley and Samuel Bradley from Columbus, dead from gunshot wounds inside the home. Furthermore, one man was a local pastor, but officials still don’t know why the house was targeted.

Moore Captured, Death Penalty Considered In Tragedy
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals, eventually took Moore into custody without incident. Marshals, while driving a stolen vehicle. Sheriff Eddie Scott, reflecting on the case, called it “one of the toughest” in his 30-year career, noting the unprecedented scale and brutality of the attacks. Investigators continue examining the case, and District Attorney Scott Colom is considering the death penalty in this tragic matter.
