David and Tamela Mann are fresh off the premiere of the latest Madea movie on Netflix. Yet, social media has already pivoted from talking about their on-screen roles to their real-life marriage. David & Tamela Mann Shut Down Divorce Rumors
The Manns addressed the rumors of a split via an Instagram video post. David held up the phone while Tamela pointed at a video on her cell phone. It appears to be divorce commentary from an unclear video creator, who allegedly claimed Tamela is suing her husband for $50 million amid the speculated split. In Tamela and David Mann’s video, she can be heard saying, “This, what is this?” as they both processed the “lies” out loud.
“We sitting here on vacation, chilling together and we find out, we getting a divorce. Well, ain’t nobody told us,” David Mann said, as Tamela cracked jokes in the background.
As their video continued, Tamela told their supporters, “People, y’all stop believing this mess. Stop believing this mess. I’m not single.” David then pointed out another recent rumor about Tamela being deathly ill, to which he said, “She looks good to me.”
“I am fine, I am doing great. He is not beating me…,”Tamela said, before David joked about beating her, but “not like that,” implying bedroom activities.
Throughout their video, the couple went from joking about the wild rumors to repeatedly warning their fans not to believe everything online. “Unless we AI,” David Mann cackled, before Tamela suggested that the folks running the rumor mills go “get a job.” Mrs. Mann also explained that they decided to hop on live to reassure supporters and loved ones amid the alleged reports.
“…Our love is true,” Tamela said. “And we’re still hanging together, it’s been 37 years and we still in love. This still my boyfriend.”
Additionally, David Mann said they are celebrating their 37th anniversary because they worked during it this year. The couple married in April 1988 and welcomed one daughter, LaTia Mann, in 1990.

As mentioned, Tamela and David are addressing the divorce rumors just two weeks after Netflix released ‘Madea’s Destination Wedding.’ In the movie, the couple reprised their roles as the iconic Cora and Mr. Brown. Despite being married in real life, they play the roles of daughter and dad in Tyler Perry’s Madea universe. However, another related film recently clarified that Brown is not Cora’s biological dad.
Nonetheless, the Manns did not disappoint in bringing their characters to life in Perry’s 13th film in the Madea series. ‘Destination Wedding’ also marked the 20th anniversary of the character Madea.
According to MSN.com, the new film received 19.1 million views and 33.1 million hours of viewing within two days. It also reportedly became No. 1 in the U.S. and entered the Top 10 in 69 countries.
