Prince George’s County Judge Clayton Aarons ordered that Greenwell remains in jail. He called her actions “extremely serious” for not only assaulting children but also filming it while being aware of the wrongdoing.

Greenwell even sent the clips to others, according to the outlet.

“In this case, we have to look at protecting the public,” Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy told FOX 5. “We have someone who was alleged to have abused defenseless children. That really shows a callous disregard for humanity, and so we were very concerned about her engaging with the general public.”

Greenwell’s employer, Oxon Hill Center for Early Learning, has yet to respond to FOX 5’s repeated attempts to reach them for comment since the videos surfaced Friday night.

FOX 5 reportedly received footage of the abuse, then notified Prince George’s County Police of the crime.

Suspect’s Family Requests Anonymity After Receiving Threats & Harassment Since News Broke

Greenwell was arrested on Saturday, April 8. On Monday, she appeared in court via Zoom. Additionally, her family also was present and requested anonymity. Furthermore, they claimed they had been harassed and threatened since the videos of Greenwell abusing children went viral.

The victims’ families did not appear in court. However, the prosecutor reportedly stated that there are currently two child victims, ages three and four.

The head of the special victims unit, Jess Garth, also appeared in court and stated that the case is unusual because Greenwell filmed herself committing the crimes.

According to the outlet, an investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have yet also to confirm whether there are more victims.

Anyone with additional information is urged to contact Prince George’s County police at 301-352-1200.
