Rick Ross and DC Young Fly are no strangers to going viralbut this time, it’s not over a song or a punchline. Social media lit up after fans caught wind of a brewing tension between the two.It all started with a seemingly harmless interview memory, but what followed was a digital sparring match filled with receipts, shade, and a Gucci jacket caught in the crossfire.
Recently, DC Young Fly appeared on the ‘New Rory & MAL’ podcast and gave his take on Rick Ross mysteriously vanishing from his 2021 sit-down with the ’85 South’ Show crew. According to DC, Ross departure didnt sit rightespecially after he allegedly bounced mid-interview to head to another podcast that was, in DCs words, a white podcast.
Ross didnt take kindly to the commentary and responded through a series of Instagram Stories, filmed poolside, where he reminded the crew that he showed up for freeand wore a Gucci jacket for what he now considers a wasted moment.He added that he didnt walk out disrespectfully and lightly shaded the show by suggesting they prepare lemon pepper wings if they ever want him back.
Apparently, Rick Ross’ response lit a fire under DC, who clapped back fast. He made it clear Ross wasnt the only celebrity who had pulled up to ’85 South’ without a check. DC even listed off names like T.I., Boosie, Busta Rhymes, and Snoop Dogg. DC reminded Ross that the show didnt need a co-sign and was the biggest podcast before and after his appearance. But, DC didnt just defend the showhe extended an invitation for Ross to return and even jokingly offered to buy the wasted Gucci jacket. As for those wings? DC confirmed Wingstop grub was already in the studio; Ross just didnt stick around to enjoy it. In true ’85 South’ fashion, the message was part roast, part real talkbut definitely all smoke.
“Everybody who sat on that couch do it for free. We do analytics. Our analytics. We was the biggest before you came, and we was the biggest afterwards. So, you always got room to come back to be on the biggest podcast in the world [] You wore the jacket for no reason. Well, let me buy that Gucci jacket up off you then. So I can tell my son, I bought this from a n***a who left. He said that he wore it for no reason. It was a waste. So since we didn’t pay you, I’mma pay you for the Gucci jacket,” DC Young Fly can be heard telling the camera.
Chile, The Shade Room comment section was in shambles. Folks are riding hard for DC Young Fly, saying he had every right to speak his mind. Meanwhile, some are shooting their shot to be the next guest on the show, and a few loyal Rozay fans are popping out to defend their fave like its a Verzuz battle.
