Dez Bryant Has Been Released From The Cowboys, Says He Wants To Play For A Team In The NFC East

It was announced today that #Cowboys wide receiver #DezBryant was released from the team today after being with them for almost eight years. This comes after only three years of a five-year, $70 million contract. According to @NESN, “Bryant was set to earn $25 million total over the next two seasons with a cap hit of $16.5 million.” The Cowboys will be saving $8 million against the cap by releasing Bryant.

The free-agent wide receiver spoke with NFL media’s Jane Slater today and told her that he “feels free” after leaving the Cowboys’ facility today. He also said that he’d like to play for a team in the #NFCEast which has New York #Giants, Philadelphia #Eagles and Washington #Redskins fans wondering which colors he could be rocking next season!

Redskins fans can chill, though, because, according to USA TODAY reporter Mike Jones, the Redskins aren’t interested in Bryant at this time. Thankfully, Bryant is in good spirits and is ready to get the process started to being signed to a new team, but he did throw some shade y’all!

It looks like he’s alluding that the real reason he was released could be that the coaches had a problem with him calling them out. Sports reporter Mike Leslie got a text from a former teammate of Bryant’s which read, “Coaches prolly had a problem with him ‘cause he would call them out like they do us… that’s prolly why they let him go.” This anonymous teammate went on to say “He called them out publicly. That’s a no no.”

Leslie shared this on Twitter and Bryant retweeted it and commented “….”
