The seventh week of the federal criminal trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs wrapped on Friday, June 27. Last week, the court heard closing arguments from the prosecution and the 55-year-old’s defense team. Furthermore, the prosecution doubled down on their assertion that Diddy ran a criminal enterprise through his businesses. Additionally, they reminded the jury of how Diddy allegedly used threats, coercion, and exploitation to carry out his alleged prostitution and sex trafficking of various individuals. In turn, Diddy’s defense team fired back on those claims. They alleged that the case against Diddy is exaggerated and fueled by witnesses’ greed for money. Additionally, they argued that the mogul is only guilty of being a not-so-nice person who participated in a swinger lifestyle.
Now that it’s all said and done, the jury will deliberate on the arguments from both sides. Will Diddy walk away a free man? Or is he looking at time behind bars?

What Happened During Week 7 Of The Diddy Trial?
According to Carter, the prosecution did not hesitate to recount the alleged events that occurred during Cassie’s romance with Diddy — from the March 2016 hotel assault to the alleged $100,000 paid to hide the security footage. Additionally, prosecutors played audio of Diddy instructing another former partner of his, a woman only known as “Jane Doe,” to get on her “job” in facilitating his alleged drug-fueled freakoffs. Furthermore, prosecutors argued Diddy even coerced Jane into the “wild” nights by threatening to withhold paying her $10,000 agreed-upon rent payments.
For the defense, Marc Agnifilo accused prosecutors of targeting Diddy and even questioned the validity of the racketeering charge against him. Per Carter, he called the charge a “fragment” of the “prosecution’s imagination,” arguing that the trial against Diddy is not about crime but money. Additionally, they argued that the male escorts who participated in the freakoffs did so willingly, unmotivated by the reward of lush payments.
What Will The Verdict Be?
Ultimately, the prosecution had the last word with their rebuttal of the defense’s closing arguments. Per Carter, they emphasized that the defense only strived to “distract from Combs’ inexcusable behavior.” Furthermore, they noted that the trial only showcased how “‘no’ was never an option” in his world. Now, a jury of 12 — eight men and four women — will decide on Diddy’s fate. Will he walk free or spend decades behind bars?
