Gia Casey Believes Her Late Mother's Dementia Saved Her Marriage

DJ Envy’s Wife, Gia Casey, Believes Her Late Mother’s Battle With Dementia Helped Save Their Marriage

DJ Envy and his wife, Gia Casey, continue to be the talk online as people learn about the trials and tribulations they endured in their marriage. The couple, who has been married for nearly 20 years, opened up more about previous infidelity issues in their recent Breakfast Club interview. Gia explained that if it weren’t for her late mother, Norma Grante, who had dementia, she would have divorced Envy. Gia explained that her mother’s 14-year battle saved her relationship.

“If my mother didn’t have dementia RaaShaun and I wouldn’t be married today because there would’ve been no way. God, no God that I could’ve gone to my mother and told her what happened and told her that I was staying,” she said. “God would have literally had to appear in front of me and my mother and convinced both of us because I wasn’t raised that way,” Gia continued.

The conversation became more personal when the mother of six revealed that whatever the couple had to accomplish, either through their marriage or children, was so great that she believed her late mother was a casualty.

“I think that God took my mother’s sensibilities away from her so that I wouldn’t be in a position where I had to make that decision,” she said.

If you recall, earlier on in their marriage Envy cheated on Gia reality tv star Erica Mena. Envy first addressed the cheating in 2013 on the radio, stating,

“I started messing with somebody beneath me. A bird. Evil. A liar. Somebody desperate, and it’s just so pathetic. I mean, I didn’t have to feed this person. I didn’t have to make her feel special because she wasn’t. So that’s what it was.”

As the couple continues to promote their book, ‘Real Life, Real Love: Life Lessons on Joy, Pain, & the Magic That Holds Us Together,’ it seems like there are a lot of lessons for readers.
