Could we have a potential new hip hop beef on the horizon? Doja Cat and Nas do seem like an unlikely pair to have beef but then again, nothing can really surprise us any more in 2020.
It seems that Ms. Doja Cat is finally ready to respond to Nas’ “Ultra Black” single in which he name dropped Doja while referring to himself. The controversial line went, “Unapologetically black, the opposite of Doja Cat.”
Nas was clearly referring to the controversy that surrounded Doja just a few months ago after she was accused of engaging in racist and anti-Black behavior while in chat rooms.
It seems Doja had weathered that storm even though people still say she’s “canceled” and while Nas is undoubtedly a legend in Hip Hop, people weren’t necessarily feeling someone who boasts about being pro-Black dissing a Black woman.
In defense of Doja, people called out Nas for his lyrics while also bringing up his alleged past with domestic violence. You can SWIPE to see some of the reactions below.
Doja eventually addressed Nas’ song herself by trolling the whole situation, basically giving off the impression that she wasn’t too bothered by the song.
But on Thursday, Doja Cat went live to let fans know she’s dropping some new music herself and the song will be called “NAS.”
