Dolce & Gabbana has released its first collection of Hijabs and Abayas! The Italian designers want to make a collection to “celebrate the inimitable dolce vita that is distinct to us in the Arab world.”
According to Forbes, many Muslim women have already been Dolce obsessed when it comes to fashion in the Middle East especially the ones from wealthy oil states so it was only right that the high end brand tap into that industry. Also the money is definitely there, Forbes reports that the market for Muslim women fashion is a $266 billion industry which is expected to rise to $484 billion by 2019!
Revealed on Sunday, the hijabs come in an assortment of colors, prints, and textures which include flowers, satin and black and beige color tones. Even though prices have not been available as of yet, we all know that D&G can get a bit pricey so expect to break the piggy bank a little with this one!
Many other labels such as Tommy Hilfiger, H&M and DKNY have already started catering to the Muslim markets creating hijabs and other Muslim inspired fashions. Roommates what do you think are we here for the new D&C Hijab line?
