Dr. Dre Wins Latest Divorce Battle—Judge Rules That He Doesn’t Have To Pay Ex Nicole Young $1.5 Million For Various Expenses

#Roommates, in the latest development in the incredibly messy Dr. Dre and Nicole Young divorce—Dre just received some very good news that will save him almost $2 million. A judge recently ruled that Dr. Dre doesn’t have to pay his soon-to-be ex-wife Nicole Young $1.5 million for various expenses that she previously requested.

@TMZ_TV reports, although his divorce case is far from over, Dr. Dre is likely celebrating his recent court victory over estranged ex Nicole Young. After she previously filed court documents requesting significant financial support, the judge in her divorce case against Dr. Dre just officially rejected her request for $1.5 million to pay for various expenses, including security. However that’s not all, as the judge also rejected Nicole’s request to accelerate her claim that Dre should pay $5 million for her lawyer’s fees and other expenses.

Nicole’s lawyers were in court pleading her case just before the judge’s ruling, stating that she reportedly needs the $1.5 million for security because she’s been receiving death threats. Nicole claims that some of the people commenting on the divorce have said things like, “If she dies, she dies,” and “For a small fee she can disappear.”

Unfortunately for her, the judge rejected her claim, largely due to the fact that she reportedly fired her security team that Dr. Dre was paying for. Nicole said that she wanted to hire her own security because Dre was too controlling and threatened to fire the security himself if they didn’t follow his orders. Meanwhile, Dr. Dre’s lawyer Laura Wasser, told the judge that he is still willing to pay all of Nicole’s expenses pending the divorce, including security—and the judge agreed to that.

Nicole’s lawyers fired back and asked the judge to move up the hearing regarding their attorney’s fees, since they are requesting that Dre pay $5 million in lawyer’s fees and costs for Nicole. That hearing was set for January 2021, but her lawyers wanted it held this month…another request that was rejected.

In rejecting Nicole’s arguments, the judge noted there are serious domestic violence and custody cases he has to deal with, and this is not in the same universe.  The judge did say, however, if Dre exercised control over Nicole, she could file for a restraining order.
