Drake & Live Nation Partner To Bring Live Music Venue ‘History’ To Toronto

Hardly home, but always reppin’! Roommates, if it’s one thing we know about Drake, he’s always going to hold down the 6! The proud Toronto native always reminds us of his humble beginnings and his team, who have been down with him since day one! He might not always talk about what he’s doing in his hometown, but this new business venture with Live Nation is too good not to discuss! The Champagne Papi is about to give residents in the 6 and beyond a new way to experience live music!

Earlier today, Drake and Live Nation announced they have a new partnership to bring a live entertainment venue to Toronto, according to Variety. The venue ‘History’ will have a capacity of 2,500 and offers “artists a versatile and intimate destination to perform and connect with fans in Toronto.” ‘History’ plans to host 200 concerts and events per year. The venue will include a convertible general admission area and reserved seating configurations. History will host various events such as concerts, live entertainment, galas, and even community programs and events.

Drake has been moving in silence! The report states that ‘History’ has been under development for over three years. The construction of the venue is slated to be complete after this summer.  The venue will be located in the heart of the Beaches neighborhood at 1663 Queen Street East.

Drake spoke out about ‘History’ in a statement. “Some of my most memorable shows were playing smaller rooms like History. I wanted to take those memories and what I learned to create an incredible experience for both the artists and the fans.”

In addition, Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment, also made a statement about the new venture. “We saw an opportunity to bring Toronto a great new venue, and we have so much gratitude and respect for Drake teaming up with us to bring it to life in the best way possible,” said Michael.

‘History’ is set to open later this year.

Roommates, would ya’ll fly out to enjoy live music in the 6?
