Draya Michele Wants Another Chance To Rep Savage x Fenty After Being Dropped In 2020

Draya Michele Wants Another Chance To Rep Savage x Fenty After Being Dropped In 2020

Draya Michele believes in second chances and it looks like she’s hoping Rihanna feels the same way. Back in 2020, Draya reportedly lost her Savage x Fenty endorsement. The move came after she made insensitive comments about the shooting incident between Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez. Despite her apology at the time, the brand’ quietly removed Draya from its followers and page on Instagram. More than a year later, the influencer revealed hopes of joining the Savage x Fenty family again.

“I would like my @savagexfenty deal back in 2022,” Draya wrote on a throwback photo posted to her Instagram Story. “Just wishful thinking.”

Draya’s Past Comments

Draya made the comments about the shooting while interviewing on the Wine and Weed podcast. She joked about Megan and Tory having a Bobby and Whitney type of love.

“I predict that they had some sort of Bobby and Whitney love that you know, drove them down this Snapped-esque type of road,” Draya said. “I’m here for it. I like that. I want you to like me so much you shoot me in the foot, too.”

With prompting from the podcast hosts, Draya repeated her thoughts — the second time in a “I said what I said” tone. However, she quickly changed her tune following hefty online backlash.

“I truly don’t glorify domestic violence…I was trying to say just love me deeply,” Draya tweeted at the time. “But while trying to be funny, I offended many, including Meg. And I’m sorry.”

But, just like the brand wasn’t trying to hear it, neither was Megan. She snapped at Draya, calling her a dumb b***h.

“Dumb b***h that sh*t ain’t f***ing funny who tf jokes about getting shot by a n***a,” Megan tweeted in July 2020.

Draya Speaks On Her Growth

As conversations began to bubble around Monday’s post, Draya hopped into The Shade Room’s comment section to respond.

“The thing about it is I’m human and I make mistakes but the only difference between me and everyone else is my mistakes were made in front of the world as well as my consequences,” Draya wrote. “I definitely learned a lot from this experience and I was adamant about making sure my apology was as loud as a harmful comment. I played myself, made triggering comments, was reprimanded, and apologized All in front of all of y’all. That’s growth. Bouncing back.”
