Earlier this week Dwayne Wade caught everyone by surprise when he decided to leave Miami and head back home to Chicago. He signed a $47 million deal with the Chicago Bulls, and now his ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches is looking for a piece of that.
According to The Chicago Tribune, Funches wants a County Cook judge to throw out her settlement agreement with Wade and be granted a larger amount. She claims her former lawyer allegedly settled for a $5 million divorce deal without her knowledge back in 2013.
So now she is suing her former divorce lawyer, Brian Hurst, for malpractice.
However, a judge threw out her lawsuit on Friday, but offered her the opportunity to file an amended lawsuit. Which her current lawyer, Thomas Gooch, says she “absolutely” intends to take.
Both Funches and Wade were high school sweethearts and wed back in 2002. Unfortunately, Wade filed for divorce in 2007 and the court made their split official in 2010.
Funches last made headlines back in 2011 after being outraged from Wade winning sole custody of their two children. She staged a sit-in protest where she claimed Wade left her homeless.
