According to The New York Times, Elon Musk allegedly used ketamine regularly while accompanying Donald Trump on his campaign trail. His reported chronic use of the drug began causing issues with his bladder. The NY Times also stated that Musk reportedly took ecstasy and psychedelic mushrooms. Per USA Today, Musk purportedly told former CNN host Don Lemon in a March 2024 interview that he used ketamine as a medical treatment for depression but denied abusing the drug.
In addition, sources and a photo of his medication box revealed that he traveled with a daily pill organizer containing around 20 pills, including ones marked as the stimulant Adderall. Along with Musk’s reported substance use, the NY Times highlighted how his family life became more chaotic as he dealt with several relationships and private legal battles involving some of his children.

He shared the news on his platform X (formerly Twitter), expressing gratitude to Donald Trump for the opportunity. Musk led the Department of Government Efficiency and focused on reducing the size of the federal government.
“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending. The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government,” Elon wrote.
