You know how reality TV drama can get messy and sometimes, what boils over on screen doesnt just stay there. Erica Mena is back in the spotlight, stirring the pot again after one of the most talked-about clashes on ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.’ But, this time, shes not just reacting to the racial slur drama shes calling out the reactions themselves.

And, the fallout was so severe that Mena was ultimately removed from the show. But, shes making it clear she stands by her perspective no apologies, just explanations.
The internet had plenty to say, and opinions were split. Some folks felt Erica had a pointarguing that when it comes to your kids, all bets are off. But others werent buying it, flooding The Shade Rooms Instagram comments to call her out. And, some said she knew better and still crossed a clear line.
One Instagram user @hawtstuffff said, “Love spice but Erica aint wrong. Spice brought up the relationship she has with her son, aint no rules now.“
And, Instagram user @mrgonzalez56 added, “Not a fan of hers, but once a person decides to go below the belt, like talking about people children, anything goes.“
Then, Instagram user @ayobeans commented, “Shes correct. Ppl have different rules for different ppl.“
Meanwhile, Instagram user @adoringlyurs.amanda said, “Clearly, shes still missing it. How about as a Spanish woman do not have kids with black men if this is how you feel about black women.“
While, Instagram user @more.jene_please35 wrote, “Erica never takes accountability..she just makes excuses for bad behavior!“
Finally, Instagram user @babiik21 added, “[Erica] you are WRONG per usual.“
Things exploded back in 2023 during episode of ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ when Erica Mena and Spice got into a heated argument that turned physical. It all started during a convo about Menas divorce from Safaree, but quickly escalated when Spice brought up Menas son, and Mena hurled a racial slur, calling her a blue monkey. Furthermore, the moment caused immediate outrage across social media and the backlash was swift.
Viewers resurfaced past instances of Mena using similar language, and after the clip went viral, VH1 announced that Erica Mena would not be returning to the series. In an official statement, producers confirmed she was cut from future seasons, stating the franchise has never shied away from hard conversations and that her remarks would be addressed in the remaining episodes of the season.
