Fantasia Is ‘Officially Enrolled’ At Central State University!

In a new update on Fantasia Barrino-Taylor‘s return to school, the ‘American Idol’ alum revealed that she’ll be attending Central State University — a public HBCU in Wilberforce, Ohio!

The 38-year-old R&B star recently shared the decision via an Instagram video.

Within her caption, Barrino acknowledged that she was “officially enrolled” in the institution and expressed her appreciation for everyone who supported her educational pursuits.

“I want to thank everyone who was [a part] of making this happen for me and working with my busy schedule.”

She gave a special shoutout to a couple of her Sigma Gamma Rho sorors for “connecting [her] with the amazing staff at Central State.”

Notably, Barrino finished her caption by suggesting she might pop in for the university’s Homecoming festivities!

“Who knows… I may just show up to Homecoming in October!!!”

Beneath Barrino’s upload, the institution commented, “Welcome to Central State University!!!! We’re so excited for you to be a part of our Marauder family.” She also received an outpouring of support from fans and fellow sorors.

The Singer Went Back To School To ‘Break Generational Curses’ & Better Her Craft

As The Shade Room reported, Fantasia previously revealed that she had decided to return to school in February. Aside from sharing that she had the support of her Sigma Gamma Rho sorority sisters, she didn’t divulge many details on the matter.

“I went back to school. Shoutout to my soror, Yvonne. She’s back in school, I’m back in school. We push each other—motivate each other.”

Now, however, Fantasia has let fans in on where she’ll be attending, and she seems to be psyched to embark on this journey!

We should add that Barrino-Taylor spoke on the decision to return to school with PEOPLE She noted that she wanted to “break generational curses” and be a positive example for her children.

“I want to break generational curses. When it comes to my family, my girls, my children, I want to show them that no matter what she’s been through, you can always get back and go after it again, and that’s what I am doing.”

Additionally, she acknowledged, “I’m a businesswoman now and I desire to continue to sharpen my sword and better my craft.” PERIOD!
