Fat Joe Opens Up About Using Ozempic & Maintaining His Weight Loss
On Monday, October 14, US Weekly published an exclusive interview with Fat Joe. In the conversation, the rapper detailed how “cutting carbs and Ozempic” have “helped him keep his weight down.”
More specifically, the rapper detailed his diet.
“We just try to eat everything with the least carbs as possible,” the 54-year-old explained. “So we try to stay away from the bread, the pasta, the rice. That’s the smartest way to eat.”
Despite this, Joe noted that carbs are still essential to one’s diet. This said, he prefers to keep portion control in mind.
“Like this morning I ate breakfast, I had this toast. I cut the corner off, ate it, and kept it moving,” he said. “Normally, I would’ve ate… the whole thing. But you know, that’s what we do. We cut carbs and try to be smarter.”
According to the outlet, Joe explained that using Ozempic has “helped him keep the weight off.” The diabetes-turned-weight-loss-drug has reportedly helped him curb his appetite.
“Ozempic says you may only have two pieces of your favorite stuff,” he reportedly joked.
Page Six noted that the rapper did not “specify when he began using the injection or if he’s still taking it” while speaking with US Weekly.

In July 2023, Fat Joe spoke exclusively with Men’s Health about his weight loss journey. Per Page Six, the rapper revealed that he decided to start taking his lifestyle seriously after once weighing in at over 470 pounds.
“Your body’s just a computer,” he said at the time. “It reads stuff you eat in different ways.”
Subsequently, Joe began regularly checking his blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels. Additionally, he started gradually incorporating fitness into his everyday activities. Ultimately, within the past sixteen years, the rapper has shed at least 200 pounds.
“He’s kept up this lifestyle because he wants to live. He wants to keep flourishing in life. He wants to keep providing for his family,” Joe’s manager, Rich Player, told Men’s Health at the time.
